Darwin Day Posters, a Facebook Cover, and a Galápagos Cruise

Darwin Day Poster 2014Darwin Day is an international celebration of human achievement and scientific inquiry. Held on or around Charles Darwin's birthday, February 12, people gather to pay tribute to him, to learn more about evolution, and to marvel at the natural world he so vividly described and explained.

At a time when anti-science groups are elevating their attacks on Darwin and the theory of evolution, it is important that we recognize his significant contributions to our understanding of the human species and the nature of life.

On Darwin Day, we stand up with scientists and science teachers around the world to celebrate the relevance and integrity of Darwin's Great Idea:

"...from so simple a beginning endless forms most beautiful and most wonderful have been, and are being, evolved."

How can you celebrate Darwin Day?

Whether you're an independent humanist or skeptics group, a biology club, a science department, a researcher, a teacher, a student, or just a big Darwin fan, there are plenty of ways to celebrate Darwin Day:

     •  Read On the Origin of Species by Charles Darwin or go to LibriVox to download the audiobook for free!
     •  PBS.org has a plethora of information regarding evolution, science, and Charles Darwin. Their evolution site has specific sections about Darwin, change, extinction, survival, and more.
     •  The Complete Work of Charles Darwin Online has drawings, journal entries, and more fun, visual resources.
     •  The National Center for Science Education has advice and resources to help you promote and understand evolution. Check their Taking Action page.

Finally, join us for the ultimate Darwin Day celebration: A 10-Day adventure to the Galápagos Islands!

Let the land that inspired Darwin inspire you!

When Charles Darwin set foot in the Galápagos in 1835, he had no idea how important the island wildlife would be to his understanding of all life, but his observations here were a key inspiration for his theory of evolution.

This is your chance to observe what Darwin observed, to experience the abundance of Galápagos wildlife, and to learn from nature's living laboratory—all while enjoying the company of your fellow science-, humanist-, and skeptic-minded passengers.

CFI's exclusive, full-charter of the Celebrity Xpedition combines the best of both worlds: the all-inclusive services of a major cruise line, plus the open, casual, and intimate environment of a smaller, exploratory ship.

ACT NOW! Space on this expedition is very limited.

We set sail June 20-30, 2014.
