Parking Information for Indiana Civic Day

Saturday, February 9, 2019

The Canal Square parking garage behind CFI-Indiana will be available for free parking for Indiana Civic Day attendees.  Turn east into Vermont Street from West Street.  Look to your right for the garage entrance.  Proceed through the big gate to the second entrance to parking.  Make a sharp left turn and then a sharp right turn and go through the parking arm there.  You may park in any of the spaces at the canal level of the garage. Follow the ISMA signs.  Do not park in resident parking on the upper levels. If you use a GPS or other mapping device use the address 403 West Vermont.  You will need a code number to open the main parking garage gate.  That code for Saturday, February 9 will be sent to you closer to the date. The parking arm to canal level will be open for you to park on that level. If you have a problem parking, call Nathan Theising's cell phone:  317-513-8627. If you leave early from the conference, contact Nathan to let you in the garage to get your car.

Parking is also free on Saturdays on Indiana and Senate north of Vermont.  Metered parking is available on Ohio, New York, Senate, and Indiana south of Vermont.

The State Library is about a block and a half walk from the Canal Square garage.  Walk out the New York Street side of the garage(the opposite side from which you drove in, through the pedestrian gate to the right of the big gate), cross New York Street, walk across the History Center parking lot and through their lobby.  You will be on Ohio Street.  The State Library entrance is to your immediate left. The History Center opens at 10:00.  If you get there earlier, you will have to walk left on New York to Senate, right to Ohio, and right to the library entrance.

CFI-Indiana is at canal level accessible from stairs on New York and both sides of Vermont.  There is an elevator beside the New York stairs.

CFI-Indiana can also be entered from the Canal Square parking garage by going through the blue doors and down the hall.  Follow the signs. This is the best way for handicapped to enter.

Another parking option unless there is a sign that day that says, "IHS Parking Only," is the Historical Society Parking lot on New York Street across from the exit of the Canal Square garage for a maximum fee of $20 for the whole day.

When you arrive at the State Library: The library does not open until 10:00 am. So we cannot get in until then.  The entrance is on Ohio Street.  Walk in the door and turn left in front of the information desk, walk through the next room and then turn right,  take the elevator or steps to second floor.
